Les Gets is founded on the periphery of the massive but disjointed Portes du Soleiland If you've got a spare month or two, there are 650km of pistes to explore in and around the area. Although situated at a fairly low altitude the snow record is good and the skiing offered is particularly good for beginners and intermediates.
Families should find Les Gets an attractive venue with great ski school provision for the little ones. Ski-to-your-door accessibility is also a huge bonus. If you are looking for nightlife and non-skiing activities, though, Les Gets can be a little sleepy. There are a couple of clubs, but not the variety of other resorts. Overall, it's an attractive spot with good local skiing and the rest of the Portes du Soleil fairly accessible. There's plenty for all abilities and when the white stuff is in abundance, Les Gets easily gets away with its lack of alternative forms of amusement.
